CCS: Institutes: CCRI: Background

The goal of CCS-CCRI is to serve as a world-class climate and carbon research center and be a focal point for the computational climate and carbon simulation community. CCS has best-in-class computational facilities available for focused research teams to complete centuries long integrations of the most advanced climate models in the US. The analyses and evaluation of these unique climate simulations include assessment of climate prediction uncertainties. In addition to advanced computational climate and carbon science, the CCRI has an active educational role in the form of workshops and various methods of disseminating climate and carbon research to the UT-Battelle universities and beyond.
