2004 Computational Nanoscience
Focused User Laboratories (NanoFocULs)

The Nanomaterials Theory Institute of the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, is pleased to announce its summer 2004 Computational Nanoscience Focused User Laboratories (NanoFocULs) program. The NanoFocULs are being conducted in conjunction with the Center for Computational Sciences and the Joint Institute for Computational Sciences. A NanoFocUL is intended to be an extended period (from one week to a month, a semester, or even a year) of seminars, interactive research collaborations, code development and/or scientific exchange designated to develop/extend/modify community-based codes relevant to the needs of users of ORNL’s Nanomaterials Theory Institute. By involving world-leading experts, as well as computational scientists and code users, we expect NanoFocULs to play a key role in accelerating the utility of community-based codes in computational and theoretical nanoscience.

The NanoFocULs will be held on the campus of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) located nearby Oak Ridge. Accommodation has been arranged at the Comfort Inn in Oak Ridge.

Enquiries concerning registration and other admininstrative aspects of the NanoFocULs should be directed to Sherry Hempfling , facilitator of the NTI NanoFocULs. Enquiries about the technical aspects of the NanoFocULs should be directed to the individual NanoFocUL organizers.
